Snowy Day in Texas!
What a joyful surprise on March 6. The day that was supposed to be Caleb's "Spring" Program at school ended up being a winter wonderland, leaving us with about 5 inches of snow.
Totally oblivious to the frigid temperature, chapped lips and wet clothes - Caleb was immersed in pure snow delight.
Have you ever seen a face this cute? He just brings me so much joy!

Again, happiness pure and simple.

Remember when you were young and you ate the snow without worrying about any grossness that might be involved? When did we transition into such boring creatures? May Caleb always be this carefree and easily amused.

June 12

Jacob Thomas Cain will enter the world on June 12, 2008! This is so exciting to me since June 20 was my previous due date and that seemed sooooo far away. We scheduled the c-section for June 12 which just sounds so much better. The doctor actually wanted to do it the 13th since the 12th is her first day back from a long vacation, but I just really didn't want him teased his whole life about being a Friday the 13th baby. I feel bad though, because now I'm forcing my doctor to come in to work crazy early the day after flying home from vacation.

The Perks of Pregnancy
Ladies, if you want to convince your husband a housekeeper is a worthwhile investment, get pregnant and have him to the bathroom deep cleaning. Even Caleb joined in on the fun. It was hilarious! So, does anyone know a good housekeeper? He he he :)

Caleb Turns 4

Caleb celebrated his 4th birthday with lots of friends at the Little Gym. It was his best birthday yet, and Brad and I did nothing! It was great. P.S. Texas Star Bakery in Hurst is awesome. Unfortuneatly, I put on some serious weight the week after Caleb's birthday eating leftover cake. :)

Our Holidays '07-'08
This year was our last holiday season with just the three of us (next year we'll have little Jacob Thomas to add to the mix). Nevertheless, it was an eventful couple of months. We had multiple Christmas parties, Caleb's school Christmas program (we got to see our child make funny faces and stare at the ceiling while the rest of the 3's sang Christmas songs!), a trip to Louisiana to see Nana and Papaw, an awesome Christmas at home (lots of home-made goodies and Santa was very good to us this year), Christmas with Grandpa Dave, an extended visit from cousin Luke and family from North Carolina, Christmas at Gigi's, a trip with cousin Luke to Midevial Times, Brad and I took a "Babymoon" to a local hotel and spa. and Caleb enjoyed an airplane trip for a long visit with the cousins in North Carolina. We wrapped up January with the best birthday party ever for Caleb at the Little Gym and a fun Super Bowl party with our team. Here are some pics to highlight our holidays!

Santa brought Caleb a plasma car and building workshop! How cool!

Gigi got matching seados for Caleb and Luke.

Crashing cars is awesome!

Horrible fuzzy picture, but Caleb is on the back row, 4th from the left. Not seeing broadway in the future. :)

This is our "team" at Northwood with all the kiddos. Yes we are big, but are as close as family. I am so thankful for this group of friends! We truly have a rare group dynamic. One of our team members, Jennifer Hunt, is a far better writer than me and expressed it perfectly on her blog. Below are her words and all of our same thoughts:

"We had 35 of our closest friends over to our house this afternoon for lunch! These are the families on our "team" from church, and they truly are family to us. We have been together for a little over a year, and we have been through a lot.

These are truly the friends that will care for each other's kids without a second thought, provide meals, sit with you in a hospital room, pray fervently for you, share their deepest secrets and weaknesses, make your stomach ache from laughing, challenge you to greater depths in your love for Jesus. We love these guys so much, and we were privileged and oh so thankful to have them all together (minus one family and one sick 3 year old, plus Sherman and Becky visiting from the Glocal Ventures office in Vietnam) in our home this afternoon.

We all need friends. We need community. We weren't meant to be alone. Thank you, God, for such precious friends."

What an eventful Fall! After our North Carolina trip, we've had school parties, trips to the pumpkin patch, carnivals and trick-or-treating. We still have heaps of candy lying around and are quickly being thrusted into Thanksgiving school parties and multiple family gatherings and eating marathons. In the middle of all this fun, we found out we are expecting a new member to our clan. Hmm... can we say morning sickness on Thanksgiving Day. Fun stuff! Baby will be here in June and though that seems far away, if these past few months are any indication, it will be here before I know it. Here are some pics of our Fall fun.
